1. Application of this Privacy Policy

1.1. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) forms part of the Terms and Conditions (“Terms”)
relating to the ‘Sustainability
Innovators Challenge UAE’ (“Challenge”) organised by Al
Tamimi & Company in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (“Organiser”. “we”,
“us” or “our”).

1.2. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, the Organisers are the “data
controller” of your personal information.
2. Collection of personal information

2.1. By registering and participating in the Challenge, you consent to our collection,
use and
disclosure of your personal information in accordance with the terms of this Policy. You
may
withdraw such consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing,
based on
your consent, conducted prior to the withdrawal, but such withdrawal of consent may
affect your
ability to participation in the Challenge.

us:

(i) Information you provide us when registering for the Challenge,
participating in the
Challenge, and/or corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or other
electronic means, or in
writing, as well as other information you provide directly to us,
including in conversation
with
our employees and staff.

other sources:

We may also receive information about you from other sources, such as
your university.
3. Purposes
- 3.1. We use your personal information, where permitted by
applicable law, as follows:

(a) Where you give us consent to:
-
(i) process your information as required to enable your registration and
participation in
the
Challenge; and/or
-
(ii) carry out marketing and publicity activities, including publishing
information relating
to
you and your submission.

(b) For purposes which are required by law, including:
-
(i) responding to requests by government or law enforcement authorities
conducting an
investigation; and/or
-
(ii) complying with any applicable legislation.
4. Sharing Your Personal Information

4.1. We may also share your personal information with third parties, including
certain
service
providers we have retained in connection with organizing, hosting, publicising
and
conducting
the Challenge, such as The Khaleej Times, The National and Dubai Eye or other
necessary
entities.

4.2. We may also disclose your personal information to law enforcement
authorities or other
government officials.

4.3. We may also disclose your personal information to any competent
administrative or
judicial
authority in prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing in
compliance with the
Prevention of Money Laundering regulation, for the purposes of preventing any
operation
related
to money laundering or terrorism financing.
5. Cross-Border Transfers

Where we transfer your personal data processed by us outside of your
jurisdiction of
residence
to a jurisdiction that does not protect your personal data to the same or
similar level as
in
your jurisdiction of residence, we will adopt appropriate safeguards in
accordance with
applicable laws in order to protect your personal data, which may include,
without
limitation,
standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we retain your personal information?

6.1. We will keep your personal information while you are participating in the
Challenge.

Thereafter, we will keep your personal information for as long as is necessary:
(a) to respond to any questions, complaints or claims made by you or on your
behalf;

(b) to show that we treated you fairly; and
-
(c) to keep records required by law.

6.2. We will not retain your personal information for longer than necessary for
the purposes
set
out in this policy. When it is no longer necessary to retain your personal
information, we
will
delete or anonymise it.

7.1. Subject to applicable laws, you may have the right to:

(a) obtain information regarding the processing and protection of your personal

and
access to the personal information which we hold about you;

(b) ask us to provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you;

(c) have personal information deleted or any inaccurate personal information
